St John Ambulance - Training (04 April 2008)

Today's weather was good. Cloudy and no rain. The sec 1s and 2shad their first aid practical taught by Sgt Chu Thing, Sgt Ann Nee and Sgt Hui Zhen. During the first aid lecture, they were taught to tie reft knot, arm sling and elavation sling. After which they had Footdrill where they were taught marching. They ended their day training with a short recreation - captain's ball.

The sec 3s girls trained for their first aid competition under SSGT Li Hui. Special thanks to the guys who acted as casualties to aid the fa competition training.

St John Ambulance - Counting Day (30 March 2008)

After a day of hard work, its time to see results. All the 3 officers crossed their fingers, not asking for more. The participating members met at jurong east interchange and the 2 officers drove them there. We reached HQ at 810am and start counting at 830am. This year was special, we counted tin by tin because there is a competition going on. To our surprise, we complete the counting at Lunch. 132 tins. Whats next? We collected 4 full bags of coin. What is full? A bag that is so heavy that a man have to use lots of strength to carry. No girls was able to lift it up at all. And whats best? $1500 worth of cash collected.

Guess what? We have collected $6700! Congragulations people. Good Job! We were the top in Zone Level. This may not be alot, but compare to last year, it was only $2400.

Lesson Learnt: Hard Work Pays.

As an incentive for ALL members, St John t-shirt will be subsidized with 10% of the amount members collected. The cost of each t-shirt is $7.50. If members collect $50, we will subsidize $5 and they will pay $2.50 for their t-shirt.
